Welcome

Welcome to the Little Mooo Ranch!

Sadly, Tony passed away August 4, 2012.  Little Mooo Ranch and this website were part of his dream.  I am leaving this site up in honor of his memory.. The Ranch is alive and well, however I no longer raise pygmys.. The kids here are now my pets and entertainment.  Please enjoy.

LMR (Little Mooo Ranch) is a registered Colorado brand. We specialize in raising small African Pygmy goats. Small meaning under 20” at the withers. This makes them ideal for retirees, hobby ranchers and 4-H projects that don’t want to wrestle a big animal. Each animal is leash and harness trained and  has their baby shots.

Fruita is in the western part of Colorado right next to the Colorado/Utah border. We look at the Rockies to the east and the Canyonlands to the west. The Colorado River provides the water for irrigation in this high dry plateau that we call "The Grand Valley".  Yes, the Grand Valley has clean air and blue skies.  So with spectatular views, cold moutain water, and good green pastures - what a wonderful place to retire and raise delightful, playful pygmy goats!.

I am so sorry to hear about Tony passing.....it seems you two had a lovely life. My daughter and I just acquired a pgymy baby boy, 10 days old when I got him. 3-weeks old now. Affectionately named "Moose." He is a heartbreaker and so social. I know nothing about taking care of him though. I have a wonderful vet that is researching vaccines and care and in the interim Moose is eating DuMore goat replacement milk (dry and mixed with water). I chose this because it is what I was told to feed from his breeder. He is a happy little guy and eats about 3 oz every 3 - 4 hours but is having loose stools. Help please! My vet suggested Kaopectate and no response to this. I have been putting 1 tbls Kaopectate in his bottle and still loose stools. He is very active and happy though (tail up). I have read so much online and just really need some help with what I need to feed him. He is so smart, already pretty much potty trained (wee wee only:); but I am afraid for his little stomach. He weighed about 3 lbs when I got him two weeks ago and is now up to a little over 4 so I know he is thriving. I just don't want that to change. Thanks so much Nevelle! I hope to hear from you soon. Your ranch looks lovely! Sue

Anzley: Not to worry - most of our little guys are not big enough to jump on cars.. but they love to follow you around like puppy dogs - as for the trees - cover the trunks with hardware cloth and they don't eat the bark - but they do love the leaves and seeds - Where there is a will, there is a way.. Hope you and your family can make a trip over here and meet our little ones in person!
